Safari by Day in Details: 6 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari and Wildlife Tour
Day 1: Arrival at either Entebbe International Airport or Kampala City
On the arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to your hotel. Dinner and overnight Metropole hotel or Tri-Star hotel. BB
Day 2: Departure from either Entebbe International Airport of from Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Depart from Kampala, stopover at the Equator, famous spot for photography. For the rest of the journey view the long-horned Ankole cattle, papyrus acacia woodlands and terraced landscape of Kigezi high lands on your way to Bwindi impenetrable national park. Lunch en-route in Mbarara.
Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge/ Ichumbi lodge (M) or Buhoma community.
Day 3: Full day doing the mountains gorilla trekking activity in Bwindi Impenetrable forest
A morning briefing from the rangers at 8.00 am before you enter the gorilla sanctuary. The thrill of your encounter will erase the difficulties of the potentially strenuous trek. Bring jungle boots and rain jackets because the park is often wet.
Spend time in awe watching the gorillas go about their activities. Each encounter is different and has its own rewards, but you are likely to enjoy the close view of adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngster’s frolic and swing from vines in a delightfully playful display.
A recently proclaimed World Heritage site, it’s one of the most biologically diverse areas on earth and its unique, precious flora sustains roughly half of the world population of mountain gorillas – believed to number just 600.
There’s also a substantial chimpanzee population and research shows that Bwindi is the only forest in Africa in which these two apes live together. After tracking transfer to back to your lodge for dinner and overnight as above. FB
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park to adventure the Tree climbing lions of Ishasha
After breakfast, transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park through Ishasha, and do a game drive in the open savannah covered by acacias trees on the edge of the Albertine Rift Valley. You will search for the typical tree-climbing lions, a population which is only found in this part of the country.
It is impressive to see the animals while they are resting lying on top of the fig’s trees. Have lunch en route. In the afternoon proceed to Ihamba safari lodge or Bush lodge.
Day 5: The boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
Enjoy the sunrise by taking an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track, Queen’s mile and expect to see Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Kobs, Waterbuck, and if you are lucky the shy Leopard and Spotted Hyena. Return to the lodge for breakfast.
The afternoon goes for the spectacular boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel for amazing birdlife and a variety of wild animals. Evening sightseeing around the volcanic crater area and Baboon cliff are amazing! Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 6: This day is reserved for departure.
