10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari
This 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari starts from Kampala City Uganda with a Kampala City tour. The Safari takes you to Murchison Falls National Park for a Uganda Wildlife Safari, Boat cruise, and game drive. You will then transfer to Fort-portal to hike the Mountains of the Moon after which you will proceed to Kibale Forest National Park for Chimpanzee tracking in Bigodi Wetland.
This African Safari will take you to Queen Elizabeth National Park for a Uganda WIldlife Safari which involves game drives in Ishasha Sector, a boat cruise at the Kazinga Channel. The 10 days Uganda Gorilla Safari takes you to Bwindi Impenetrable forest park for Mountain gorilla tracking in the Jungles of the forest after which you proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation.
Day 1 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari: Arrival at Entebbe International Airport and transfer to the hotel for relaxation.
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will be met by our representative who will transfer you to Kampala, Imperial Royale or Metropole or Tristar Hotel.
Day 2 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari -The marvelous Murchison Falls
Early morning, leave Kampala driving northwest to Murchison falls national park. Visit the Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for a nature walk to see the rare rhinos in the wild. Lunch in Masindi Hotel. Proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, the largest protected area in Uganda, with 3.840 Kms, named after the falls on the Victoria Nile. Relax a bit at a situated site on the top of the spectacular falls, where you can see the Nile’s perfected beauty and marvel as it compresses and squeezes itself from over 1 kilometer wide down through a seven-meter canyon. The 43-meter drop of the falls creates a thunderous roar and a beautiful rainbow in a plume of spray – the best of the Nile River. Dinner and overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge.
Day 3 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari – The boat cruise on the River Nile
Embark on an early morning game drive on the Northern bank where your guide will help you spot elephants, lions, cape buffalos, Rothschild’s giraffes, hartebeests, waterbucks, oribis, bushbucks, spotted hyenas and if you are lucky, leopards. Return to the lodge for breakfast. Relax at the swimming poolside. After lunch, you will safari upstream by boat to the calm Victoria Nile and the base of the falls just tens of meters from the “Devil’s Cauldron.” There you can marvel at toothsome hippos, crocodiles and over the 17-kilometer stretch, you may also see elephants, waterbucks and Uganda kobs. This is also the habitat for many bird species including goliath herons, Egyptian geese, pelican bee-eaters, kingfishers, Hombills, cormorants, and the rare shoebill stork. After taking photographs of the Murchison Falls you will return for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari – Fort Portal on the shadow of the Mountains of the Moon
After breakfast drive from Murchison Falls Southwest via the Albertine Escarpment of the Western Rift Valley. You drive through Hoima, the town of the Bunyoro kingdom, passing through the verdant countryside, tea plantations, and traditional homesteads. You reach the colorful and pretty town of Fort Portal, the capital of the Tooro kingdom, in the shadow of the fabled “Mountains of the Moon,” the Rwenzori. Dinner and overnight at Mountains of the moon Hotel or Fort motel or Ataco Country Resort.
Day 5 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari – Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park
Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park after an early break, for primate viewing. The activity starts at 8.00 am in the morning. A half-day search for chimpanzees and other primates including phoestes, Red-colobuses, Blues, Red-tailed and grey-cheeked mangabeys swinging through the dense forest and birds, butterflies and many small insects. The guide will provide detailed explanations on not only primates but also on all the forest’s fauna and flora.
After lunch, a visit to Bigodi swamp eco-tourism site is amazing, as we shall encounter rare and beautiful flora and fauna. On the way back do not miss the beauty of the Kasenda Crater Lakes, which dominates all the surrounding areas with the possibility of amazing panoramic views. Processed to Queen Elizabeth at Mweya safari lodge, or Ihamba safari lodge or Bush lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari -The boat cruise on Kazinga Channel
Enjoy the sunrise by taking an early morning game drive along Kasenyi track, Queen’s mile and expect to see Elephants, Buffaloes, Lions, Kobs, Waterbuck, and if you are lucky the shy Leopard and Spotted Hyena. Return to the lodge for breakfast. The afternoon goes for the spectacular boat cruise on Kazinga Channel for amazing birdlife and a variety of wild animals. Evening sightseeing around the volcanic crater area and Baboon cliff are amazing! Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 7 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari – The tree-climbing lions of Ishasha sector
Early morning transfer to Bwindi through the Ishasha sector of the Park via Maramagambo Forest. Have a midday game drive on a search for the rare tree-climbing lions which you can see only in this area of Uganda. Here lives a population of lions that enjoy resting on the fig trees when the day is warm. The landscape is an open savannah with a variety of acacia trees. Lunch en route. Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for dinner and overnight at Chameleon hill or Silverback lodge or Buhoma Community.
Day 8 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari – The encounter with mountains gorillas
Early morning transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing before you enter into the gorilla sanctuary of Bwindi Forest. The rainforest is spectacular as it offers a dramatic, heavily forested and dense landscape crisscrossed by numerous animal trails, allowing access for tourists. This park is best known for the fascinating mountain gorillas, where the time is taken and terrain varies according to the movements of these marvelous primates. The thrill of spending time with and observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorillas are shy and peaceful animals and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact with each other. Dinner and overnight as above.
Day 9 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari- The beautiful Lake Bunyonyi
Take breakfast before making a scenic journey to Kabale through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. An area referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa”. Stopover at the Bakiga Museum in Kabale to discover the culture of the people living in the area. Lunch at Arcadia Cottages, with a unique and amazing panoramic view of the Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest in Uganda. Afternoon boats ride inside the lake to various islands for bird viewing and sightseeing. Return to Birdnest for dinner and overnight, or Heritage Lodge or Bunyonyi Overland.
Day 10 of the 10 Days Jungle Uganda Safari: Reserved for departure.
